2nd Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit

Just imagine if in the blink of an eye you could no longer perform everyday activities, such as getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, brushing your hair, feeding yourself or even walking.  That happened to my sister, Amber Golaboski, on November 5th, 2005, when a drug-impaired driver crossed the center line and collided head on with the motorcycle on which she was a passenger.  In addition to multiple fractures, the accident caused a devastating injury to Amber's spinal cord and changed her life forever.

Since that time, Amber has been pursuing a rigorous course of therapies to both strengthen her body and to gain back whatever function is possible.  Amber wants very much to be as independent as possible.  Progressing even a level or two would help, as she might then get back more use of her arms.  Last year's inaugural golf tournament and silent auction fundraiser raised $14,000, which allowed Amber to attend therapy for an additional 7 weeks (yes, therapy really is that expensive!).  This year we can raise even more with your help!

All proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed to Amber's Recovery Fund that has been established with the Spinal Cord Injury Program of the National Transplant Assistance Fund(NTAF).  NTAF is a highly regarded nonprofit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization which has been providing fundraising assistance to transplant patients for over 24 years and to spinal cord injury patients for the last 7 years.  All monies in Amber's Recovery Fund will be used to pay for her uninsured injury-related expenses, most importantly for the uninsured therapy that is needed for Amber to recover from this devastating injury.

We are asking for your support!  Your tax-deductible contribution or donation of a product or service to be used for a raffle or silent auction item would greatly help us. If you are interested in becoming a tournament sponsor, please select your sponsorship level from the sponsor form.  If you are interested in making an tax-deductible online donation to Amber's Recovery Fund, please click on the link on the right-hand side of the page to go to NTAF's donation page.  And even better yet, organize a team of golfers and come out and play ($29 of each golfer registration is tax-deductible)!

Every penny counts! If you can only make a small donation at this time, please don’t hesitate. We appreciate any and all help that you may be able to give to help Amber with her recovery.

Thank you so much for your support of Amber and your generosity and desire to help!

With sincere gratitude,

Heidi Abner
