About Us"There goes $300 of revenue" said the head professional as we listened to the answering machine record a last-minute tee time cancellation. It was 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night and we were sitting in the pro shop talking golf with the course staff. "Why don't you post a $200 foursome on your web site right now to see if someone buys the tee time" I responded. We all looked at each other and thought "why not?" We tried it and it worked. Someone called in and purchased the tee time the next morning. The golf course "found" revenue previously considered a financial loss. We wondered how else we could use the internet to increase golf course revenues? It was late summer in 1999 when our first customer let us combine our technical skills and love for the game of golf to generate revenue for golf courses. We sold some tee times and built some golf course web sites. We found our calling when we needed to run a charity golf tournament. We searched the internet for help in running our event without much success. There were some pay services and sporatic advice, but no real expert guidance or web-based tools to make it easy to promote and manage a golf tournament. We set out to work with golf course staff to learn the golf tournament business. It didn't take long to see the importance of revenue from tournament rounds for any golf course. Then, we worked with event coordinators to determine the capabilities and features they needed to run a successful golf tournament. In May of 2001, we launched the first version of the TournEvents golf tournament management web site service. Since then, we have perfected the service by listening and responding to the needs of event coordinators and golf course staff. We are proud to say we have assisted countless charitable causes generate revenue using our free service. The TournEvents Management Team
